Description:
The Marsilion Public Utility Commission is a public service charged with managing the production, distribution, and management of the city’s water, gas, electricity, and mana.

Residential price is mainly covered by taxes and shared among the populace. Each house has a standard allowance that will cover most people’s needs, and services are charged at-cost after that point. Commercial and industrial customers typically need to pay at-cost. There’s also a permitting process to get a business hooked up with higher levels of delivery, based on need.

Power is produced by repurposed fusion reactors, and distributed to residences using 6-phase 240 V power at 60 Hz. Houses can receive 1 phase or 2 opposed phases, depending on if they need the extra voltage.

Gas is provided via gas lines from a gas field some miles south of Marsilion.

Water is locally sourced groundwater, cleaned with traditional wastewater techniques as well as “purify water” spells. Water towers dot the town.

Mana is sourced with environmentally friendly production and collection methods, and routed into town via ley lines. The occasional geomantic pinning station can be seen.
