On 4/2, a yellow breach of unprecedented size opened up high above the surface. A rocky body was pulled through, and luckily has entered a stable orbit around our planet. Numerous chunks of debris were broken off by the breach snapping shut. Many of them have already recombined with the new moon, but some are in complex, unstable orbits. The MAF and Arcford University observatory will be monitoring these. Smaller chunks have already entered the atmosphere. From the samples the MAF has taken, there doesn't appear to be any magical, toxic, or radiological hazard from these chunks, but stresses that this is just for the samples they've found. They urge anyone who finds large intact chunks to report them to the authorities for inspection first. The gravitational disruption created massive earthquakes all across the planet. The MAF is providing assistance, and expects to have basic power and water back running soon. Rescue efforts are underway to sift through buildings that collapsed with survivors. Fortunately, with the aid of the local Magic Guild, such efforts are progressing quickly. However, the danger is not yet passed. The tides are heavily disrupted, and major damage to the coast has already occurred, with more expected. If a large piece of orbiting debris is detected to be coming down near us, sirens will sound and all citizens are advised to seek shelter. | |
