Davwyn and Solaria Starwisp and cute minidrake duo Posts: 36[Male] | Dec 23, 2023 11:37 AM Miniplay: A happy yuletide morning in Odiea house |
It is Yule, Christmas, Winter Feastivas, whatever one may call it in the Odiea household.
As each of the found family wake they find a little discovery. Rich and Dav awake in the dollhouse with Rich wearing Dav in his plush form, the two keeping each other cozy and comfy walk out to find on the counter, carefully placed are two gift wrapped presents. One bright blue wrapping paper, just less than an inch in size covering a box with the tag "To Rich, from the starwisps", the second one wrapped in red wrapping paper with blue stipes of ribbon wrapped around it about an inch and a half in size with the tag "To Dav and Rich to share, from the starwisps". Inside of the blue gift: Rich would find a box containing a zippered toolkit, the material of the kit seems.. familiar. It's smooth and slick where it doesn't have rubber aheared to the edges as if it were made out of silk that was artifically stiffened up to make it ridged and solid, perhaps shifter silk? The zippered kit opens like a book in which inside are a handful of electrician tools. Side cutters, needle nose pliers, wire strippers, and a ratchet screwdriver designed to accept interchanging parts making it a combination screwdriver, bolt driver, allen key, and socket wrench.
It seems the screwdriver only seems to have one head of each main type, just a single flat head, phillips, robertson, hex, torx, pausidrive, etc. Most noticeable of all, all of the tools appear to be made out of some kind of dichroic crystal glass. It mostly a frosted white but speckles of other colours shimmer and glitter changing colours in the light depending on how the tool is held. For tools with a cutting edge, the cutting edge darkens to a deep purple similar to obsidian and appear to be very sharp. Despite being glass, the tools feel very solid, and the handle of every tool has grooves fashioned into the crystal glass itself to give a good solid grip on the normally smooth material. The tools also appear to have some kind of enchantment on them. Included is a note with fairly elegant writing: Dear Rich, we hope you enjoy your tool set. We wanted to make something special for you that would be uniquely you and came up with this together after much consideration. These tools were made out of one of the hardest forms of starwisp crystal we can make, although being crystal they may look fragile, these tools are actually harder than carbon steel registering a 9 on the Mohs scale, in which 8 is steel and 10 is diamond. But most importantly of all, you may have noticed there is only one size of each tool. That is because the tools, and pouch are magically enchanted to change scale with you. As long as the tools are within arm's reach of you, they will finely adjust scale with your own size so you will finally always have tools exactly the size you need. Best wishes, Umbra and Luma. Inside of the red gift: Unwrapping the red gift, inside appears to be a leather brown pack resembling something half way between a sidebag meant for a mount and a backpack. The backpack only has the one large opening at the top and a puzzling number of adjustable straps that seem to imply the pack can be worn like a backpack, or strapped to the side of a realatively large animal to Rich's perspective. Looking inside of the backpack, the inside of the pack looks dark with a faint blue shimmer and sparkles as if in the distance.
A note is included for this as well: Dear Rich and Dav, this pack was made for the two of you so regardless of your size you can carry your things with you. The backpack has been designed in mind to fit as a sidebag when Dav is in his normal shape, or a backpack for when anthro shape or Rich to wear. I'm sure between the two of you, you can figure out how to get the best use out of this pack. As you may guess, the inside of the pack is a hammerspace or 'of holding' enchantment to a pocket dimension. We couldn't afford a large pocket space, but between you two, two cubic feet of space would probably be plenty. This pack was made using shifter silk and will change in size with you. The pocket space inside will remain the same, so the only thing that changes is how large of an opening the bag has to work with when you change sizes. We hope you both enjoy. Happy yule, the Luma and Umbra. Meanwhile over wrapped in a box is a gift for Willow sitting outside of her bedroom door with a tag. "To Willowmic from the starwisps" in a purple wrapped box only about 5 inches long and an inch tall. Inside Willow's gift: Willow will find some kind of brown-baige silky material folded up neatly. When pulled out Willow can identify it as a silk choaker with a fine decorative chain clasp on the back that looks silver. The choaker is elegantly made, but simple in apperance.
A note is included: Dear Willow, it was difficult to think of something that would personally suit you but we both agreed you are a person of modesty, elegance, and function, so we got you something that fit those qualities. This choaker is made out of the shifter silk we discovered when going on that quest from Benji for Davwyn. This choaker will adjust to always properly fit you as you go back and forth between your forms without worry of breaking it. You could keep it as-is, though we were thinking you could attach your speakerbox to it so that you always can have it on you whenever you shift and would fit in as a pendant or broach well enough. We hope you enjoy our little gift, Umbra and Luma. Over at Sato's bedroom door, a large box about two feet long and one foot tall sits waiting for Sato, wrapped in artifical silver wrapping paper, tagged "To Sato from Luma and Umbra". Within Sato's gift: Sato would find a box full of glass jars, all of which have easy to open lids where the lid will pop open at the press of a button on the front, and the lid is on a hinge so he can just press down on the lid to close them. Each of the jars are labelled and seeing inside of them, some contain powders of various colours, some have plants of some kind or another, and others have liquids inside of them looking like oils mixed with other materials.
A note is included: Dear Sato, it was hard to think of something we could give you that would be uniquely you, but after a recent experience of discovering the incredible sense of smell, we've been able to appreciate something previously completely unknown to us that was unforgettable. Although we know you've grown up always with a great sense of smell, we've been able to understand and appreciate it enough to get something we think you would enjoy. Each of the jars contains extracts, plants, and oils that will slowly release different smells, many we are sure you might be familiar with. We got a selection of ones we know will work well with your tiger nose that you can enjoy and included a list so you know what each one is and what effects they may have, ranging from smells to feel calm and relaxed, smells to invigorate, smells of the forest, and more. We hope that you will enjoy the scent kit and will be able to make your room feel more comfortable for that one sense that was such a mystery to us. Enjoy, Luma and Umbra. With Storm going in and out of the house regularly, the wisps left his gift sitting atop of the living room coffee table. A mirror-like wrapping paper around a box about the size of a human shoebox with a tag. "To Storm and brothers from Umbra and Luma." Inside of Storm and co's gift: A simple set of brushes are found, including a simple horsehair type dry brush along with both a slicker brush and undercoat brush made out of a strange crystal material that has a slight dichoric glass effect in which they sparkle different colours depending on how the light hits them.
A small note is included: Dear Storm, Spark, Snow, Gale, Blaze, and Guard, Considering you all can warp reality in your den and generally don't have the sort of needs of most organic beings, it was hard for the two of us to think of something we could possibly give you. We worked out that more or less nothing of material matters much to you, but you all do live for experiences. As such, we purchased one brush, and made two others ourselves to share in a positive experience we both really enjoyed when you gave us the gift of feeling sensation. The feeling of being stroked and groomed was a form of calm and closeness we've never experienced before. Our gift isn't just the brushes, but also the offer for us to perhaps enjoy a good brushing together, as although we know you all keep your fur coats in great condition, nothing beats the pleaseant sensation of a nice gentle brushing through your fur. We would know as we've not been able to shake the thought since we experienced it. Your friends, Umbra and Luma. Lastly, there is one other gift for a particular small gold dragon waiting for him on the coffee table next to Storm's gift. An artifical gold wrapped gift. The box is only a couple of inches big but has a tag on it that clearly reads "For John the gold, from Luma and Umbra" Inside of the small gold box: A datachip sits on a cloth pad that is compatible with John's gilder tech and a written note:
Dear John, I know we haven't really talked much. Originally we weren't sure how to approach you as you are a dignified dragon so we weren't confident what social things we know about dragons would either bring you comfort or insult you as you are a very different kind of dragon than Davwyn is. Maybe we should have just asked you directly in hindsight but that felt very awkward. We noticed that you warmed up to Davwyn and that makes him very happy. There's not very many dragons his size he can interact with as you would know. We hope that in this new year we can maybe find more common ground and communicate, so as such we thought you might enjoy this little gift. After talking to your father, we felt something very familiar and it resurfaced memories from Solaria of you trying over and over again to communicate with the starwisps when they were trying to find an enterance into this realm. To our surprise, your father has a large amount of collected data of our transmissions and staggering amount of computing power and was able to make a partial codex for our language. Since John the Red was able to build out a basis, we spent a few days talking to him to build out on both of our ends "Starwisp Codex 1Alpha" which is on that datachip for you with your own unique callsign pre-loaded using the identity formed by John the red and us together for you. The starwisp language is similiar to telepathy as no two users use it exactly the same way, but we were able to give you the ability in the package to decode basic audio, intent, and image information with roughly a 40% decode success rate so long as the transmissions are using common language, and 70% success rate if it's using simplified language. We also loaded in the codex we've been working on for Davwyn as his version of the starwisp language is, let's say unique. It's far from perfect, but it's enough for you to get the jist of what he's trying to convey. Best wishes, Luma and Umbra. | |
