A middle-aged woman in her early thirties, with short black hair with blue highlights, grey eyes, and a mixed ancestry that is not very apparent. She has extraordinarily little adornment and no personal jewelry visible. She wears comfortable footwear, and wears practical clothing that is black and white, and is evident it is a uniform of some nature.
Homeworld
Q is from a futuristic post-scarcity society of humans and other star-exploring species that work together for the betterment for all begins. She grew up on an alternative version of Earth, where space exploration is commonplace, and humans live symbiotically with other living begins.
History
Vocational
Chief Medical Officer,Xenobiology Scientist, and Veterinarian on the S.S Margulis
Chief medical officers aboard a starship or starbase were directly in charge of the sickbay or infirmary, commanding medical department personnel and activities. The CMOs' primary duties were the oversight and maintenance of the overall health, physical, and mental fitness of crew and passengers. Furthermore as standard medical procedure, the CMO had full medical authority over any patient officially admitted into their care in their facility, including superior officers, until they were formally released from care. As the ship's Xenobiologist, she took care of the crew's pets and was the acting authority of engagement with non-terrestrial species.
Personal
She is the C.M.O (Chief Medical Officer) on the Star Ship Margulis (named for Lynn Margulis, an American evolutionary theorist, biologist, science author, educator, and science popularizer, and was the primary modern proponent for the significance of symbiosis in evolution. )
Q (as her friends call her) is curious of her suroundings, a natural wiz at playing the autoharp, and feels like she has a greater purpose in the universe. As a young woman, she spent most of her time studying the medical journals and teaching of her mother (Janet Khan, a phytologist) and was in love with nature of her home planet of Earth. She often looked up at the sky at night and wondered how other life out there existed, and that desire fueled her passion to become a scientist and pursue a career like her father ( a Star Ship Captain and war veteran)to wonder among the stars, seeking new life and cultures to discover. While onboard her first maiden voyage, a strange anomaly in the Sigma Quadrant brought her vessel to explore this strange phenomenon. As the ship neared the shimmering tear in space, a smaller wormhole materialized on the ship's bridge, and with a flash of crimson particles, Q vanished from sight and was transported to the realm of Infinitas.

Inventory
Items
Med-kit (Edit)
A portable medical kit with various medical supplies for treating first-aid for all sorts of alien and known species.
Portable breathing device (Edit)
A small device for emergency oxygen, for terrestrial species.
biorhythm watch (Edit)
Biorhythms are based on the idea that a person's life is on a cycle, with peaks and troughs. Using mathematical formulas, people can calculate and graph their cycles, thus determining good days (peaks) and bad days (troughs). This device monitors the wearer's biorhythms and provides feedback in the form of data.
Medical Tablet (a small handheld device) (Edit)
The tablet is equipped with sensors and analysis software tailored for medical diagnostic purposes. It is usually the first tool a space exploring doctor uses when assessing a patient's condition. The device can function aboard the vessel in sickbay, as well as on away missions. A medical tablet can, in certain instances, provide a recommended course of treatment for all sorts of species. (for example a "Medical tricorder" from Star Trek)
Weapons
Type 1 Phaser
- Phasers are common and versatile phased array pulsed energy beam weapons. These directed-energy weapons emit energy in an aimed direction without the means of a projectile. The intended effects may be non-lethal or lethal. The phaser beam could stun, heat, kill, or disintegrate living creatures. Phasers could damage shields or other systems or even cut through a hull. Phasers could also be used to cut through walls and burrow through rock. The beam could be focused to a single spot or widened to impact a large area.
Skills
Non-combat
- Xenobiology veterinarian
- Description:
The name "xenobiology" derives from the Greek word xenos, which means "stranger, alien". Xenobiology is a form of biology that describes biological systems and biochemistries that differ from life on Planet Earth. It is the study of life that is beyond the Solar system, and the knowledge of how alien species biology works. Being a veterinarian, she specializes in alien species that are offten kept as pets (for example "Tribbles" from Star Trek, "Lummox" from Robert A. Heinlein’s The Star Beast, and "Mawgs" from Spaceballs).
- Description:
- Astrobiology Biologist
- Description:
Astrobiology, formerly known as exobiology, is an interdisciplinary scientific field concerned with the origins, early evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe. Astrobiology considers the question of whether extraterrestrial life exists, and if it does, how humans can detect it.Astrobiology makes use of molecular biology, biophysics, biochemistry, chemistry, astronomy, physical cosmology, exoplanetology and geology to investigate the possibility of life on other worlds and help recognize biospheres that might be different from that on Earth. The origin and early evolution of life is an inseparable part of the discipline of astrobiology. Astrobiology concerns itself with interpretation of existing scientific data, and although speculation is entertained to give context, astrobiology concerns itself primarily with hypotheses that fit firmly into existing scientific theories.
This interdisciplinary field encompasses research on the origin of planetary systems, origins of organic compounds in space, rock-water-carbon interactions, abiogenesis on Earth, planetary habitability, research on bio-signatures for life detection, and studies on the potential for life to adapt to challenges on Earth and in outer space. - Description:
- Intuitive empath
- Description:
An intuitive empath generally can sense the unspoken in terms of what’s going on (like saying "reading the room"), and that can encompass many qualities. They can sense the emotions of others, and sense the unspoken (situational awareness). Think of it as having a very thorough, almost holistic kind of superpower.

Intuitive empath (Edit)
- Description:
Intuitive empaths experience extraordinary perceptions, such as: heightened intuition, messages in threes, animal and plant communication, as well as pick up on other people’s emotions. - Repercussions:
What is the difference between having empathy and being an empath? Having empathy means that the indivual reaches out to comfort another begin in pain or in joy. For empaths, this can go much further. Since empaths don’t have the usual filters that most people have, they feel others’ emotions and physical sensations in their own bodies. Empaths have an extremely sensitive neurological system. Experienced Empaths can set up mental filters to block out over stimulation.
Empaths are emotional sponges who tend to absorb both the stress and positive energy of the people and world around them – so they may suffer exhaustion, anxiety, addictions, depression, and more. - Other:
Messages in Threes: Omens or future sight
When random occurrences become significant, like if the universe is giving you a "hint". When do these symbols, signs, and messages begin to mean something? When they come in threes. Three is the lowest number that can form a pattern. Think of a triangle. Additionally, the simplicity of three is used as a basic structure for so many aspects of life.

cococorgi | Feb 16, 2021 10:13 AM Re: Dr. Minerva Quinn MorrowTo clarify my abilities, I am posting this exert from the Star Trek Fandom Wiki on Deanna Troi (a half-Betazoid), which is the basis of my character's powers: "As a half-Betazoid, Troi was capable of extra-sensory empathy, but was incapable of reading aliens with brain structures dissimilar to Humans and other Betazoids, such as the Breen and the Ferengi. Like most Betazoids, Troi had telepathic abilities. Due to her half-Human heritage, however, the range of her telepathic abilities was limited compared to full-blooded Betazoids, and she could usually only read the thoughts of other Betazoids, most notably her mother. Troi's empathic skills made her an important asset to the Enterprise-D and her abilities were often particularly useful when dealing with hostile races. Since she could usually determine, through use of her abilities, whether others were lying, she repeatedly proved herself invaluable in many suspenseful situations." |
Koen | Feb 15, 2021 3:17 PM Re: Dr. Minerva Quinn MorrowApproved, with the standard boilerplate warning |
cococorgi | Feb 15, 2021 12:16 PM Re: Dr. Minerva Quinn MorrowThanks for the approval/ review. I'm willing to give it a go. I decided being empathic so my character can find ways to communicate or understand non-verbal characters |
Timelord | Feb 15, 2021 8:02 AM Re: Dr. Minerva Quinn MorrowWhile I suspect the powers (empath/premonition) are going to difficult to play, I do not believe there is anything with the character to prevent its approval. |
