| It’s been a while since we did stuff with Marsilion’s politics, so I’ve decided that we’re doing a Mayoral race. Let’s decide what Marsilion’s politics look like together! People can submit one serious candidate and as many unserious candidates as they want. Maybe give a small description of their agenda. This does not require any commitment to long term play, it’s mostly to flavor the setting up a bit. Eli’s Serious Candidate: Ewen Robic Formerly human, turned into basically a fluffy blue dragonite (pokemon) when he arrived via red breach. Arrived shortly before the transfer from old Infinitas. He decided to get into politics when the rebuilding of the city had to happen and he had opinions on how best to go about it. His agenda is focused around infrastructure development, especially increasing the infrastructure needed to improve industrial output of Marsilion for trade with the other settlements on this planet. | |

| Dav's Serious Candidate: Martik Linwa A red-wing blackbird gryphon (having four legs and two wings but otherwise looking like a red-wing blackbird that can rear up bipedal for short periods of time). Martik has been a resident of Avalon for several years after he arrived via a yellow breach. Martik is interested in having the city spend some focus on providing better access and opportunity for their smaller citizens by adding mini-subways and miniature cable cars throughout the city, as well as making the skys safe for small flying creatures without fear of getting clobbered by the larger citizens, wildlife, and machines. Part of the latter goal is to set up a personal air-traffic control system to make it easier for small fliers to get tiny transponders and make small fliers more visible to larger aircraft and beings. After the metalification event, Martik has pushed harder for recognition when a large portion of Avalon peoples went 'inert' during the chaos of the initial few days in which since most small citizens were exclusively battery-powered, they did not last very long without a means to recharge themselves. During the helping efforts of those able to modify electrical chargers, it came to Martik's attention just how difficult transit systems were in and out of Avalon in time of crisis when many small citizens outside of Avalon ran out of battery power before they could seek out help and were found as robotic statues or 'toys' by common citizens and rescue teams alike for weeks after the initial transformation event. During the metalification event, one of Martik's campaign slogans were "We are people, not toys. The city needs to be safe for everyone big and small." | |

| Kyngeh's Serious Candidate: Rynher Sulda A middle-aged wolf anthro and has been a resident since a year or two prior to the "Transition." Arriving during a Blue Breech. Majoring in Engineering with a minor in Law, working largely as a Civil Engineer on their homeworld. Their interest is promoting better conditions for the citizens of Marsillion. During every situation where Marsillion is threatened, there is some form of suffering for those present. Thus their basis is regulations, checks and watches to help affirm security for the citizens. As well as setting up council to help direct and guide those that may already be afflicted with conditions with hopes to contain and secure them in a form of "Safe" living condition. Followed up by discussions of improved day-to-day by securing better materials for construction to apply better housing and infrastructure as well as attempts for greater crop yield and farming by working with Marsillion's neighbors. If a slogan was to be applied, "Betterment for all." | |

Serious Candidate Alrick Alphonse A brightly colored toucan anthro who campaigns strongly on social outreach. Has organized many social charity events to provide funding and attention to cases of those in need and down on their luck and runs on the campaign platform of the importance of connections between people. His focus if elected will be one of outreach. Stepping up his charity events and awareness programs, his is the insistence that people are strongest when they work together. He also plans to organize lots of community events if elected and promises to be open to suggestions for those who have ideas for events or for communities they think are getting overlooked. •"We're all in this together." •"A little community spirit goes a long way." •"We've all had a time when we were down on our luck and someone helped us out. Don't we owe it to others to pay that forwards?" Rumors say that he's quite the playboy and likes to party, but when the sun goes down he breaks out a vigilante costume and patrols the streets of Marsillon for justice and crimefighting. Less Serious Candidates Wahr Hawke An anthro hawk with a stern and severe bearing and an elderly disposition. Found the whole Horologium thing both incredibly alarming and very inspiring and wants to turn Marsillon into a more militant state in order to make them a force to be reckoned with that other powers will be more hesitant to mess with them. In favor of industrialization, mandatory labor class, curfews, and other measures to increase the town's ability to consolidate power on this world. Quotes: •"It's us or them!" •"Security is more important than individuality." •"Anything in the name of progress!" Rumors say that he's actually a sparrow who has done body modifications and dyed his feathers to look like an anthro hawk. CV3TM003 (Chet Mothree) A commercial shows a pickup truck driving down the road which parks on the side of a street and turns into a large snow leopard before walking towards the camera. A narrator prompt opens, "Here in Marsillon, we value our freedom of choice. It is our wide diversity of individuality that truly lets us thrive and trying to control that is against our very way of life. The best mayor is one who is wise enough to let us be who we truly area, without trying to control or change us." The camera zoomes in towards the snow leopard and approaches close enough that the leopard looks into the camera. The snow leopard seems to say something, but the narration talks over him. "We need a mayor candidate who is strong enough to "What's going on, who are you guys?" stand at the forefront of our town and NOT be tempted by power. CV3TM003 "Wait, who told you my full model number?" is also known as Chet Mothree "Mothree? Seriously? Did you just make that up?" and he understands. He doesn't even want to be mayor, which is what makes him the best candidate of all. "Wait, this again? I thought..." The commercial fades to black. Quotes: •"What are you, dumb? Don't vote for me!" •"Will you stop telling people I'm running for mayor already?" •"If I agree to this, will you stop bugging me about it?" Rumors say that death fears him. Chet never actually goes anywhere, the world moves around him when he makes walking motions. He speaks all languages simultaneously. | |
