After the last tremor passed at midnight, Friday 16th June, the Marsillion Government has issued a public announcement to the cause of the tremors and the potential withdrawal of the fog to the south of the island. As of midnight, a corridor has opened up in the fog between the island of Infinitas and Silsbury Island, located two hundred kilometers south. An overview of the island is below: Silsbury Island is a 300km long island that is in essence a sister island to Infinitas. Unless Infinitas however it has been preserved in time from the fall of the last civilization, with several organizations focusing on containment of a highly dangerous shard of a powerful entity within it. As such, Silsbury Island is a place with a powerful anti-technology and anti-magic field. This means that most of the technology involved is basic gunpowder and rifles, along with very small cantrip level magic with higher level magic either attracting undue attention from agents or more likely fizzling and going wild. Magic creatures are largely unaffected, but some of their more powerful abilities and resiliences are dampened by the anti-magic field. Still, they are able to operate relatively safely compared to active spellcasters. The highest level of technology that works perfectly are very basic vacuum based computers and purely mechanical items. Electronic items are not likely to work well with some interference. Cybernetics and Robotic elements especially degrade rapidly over time, requiring either significant amounts of maintenance to ensure they do not fail or constant replacement. It is recommended that if you are going to Silsbury Island that you should familiarize yourself with gunpowder weaponry such as pistols, rifles or shotguns. Due to the lack of available materials in Silsbury Island, it is also recommended that you either carry extensive ammunition or also have basic and enchanted melee weaponry. The wild magic can sometimes also interfere with ammo quality, meaning more complex weapons have a chance of failure. The island is run by an Overseer, whom acts through various agents as their hands. There are also several entities known as 'Gardeners' which appear to be the precursor of the Guardians on the mainland. These Gardeners are responsible for the maintainence of the wilds of Silsbury Island as as well as helping with support of the various villages on the island. Like Infinitas, Silsbury Island has been largely overrun by foreign inter-universal fauna and flora. Despite the Gardeners, minimum energy has been expended on maintaining anything beyond the bare minimum for containment, resulting in the island being largely unknown even to the Overseer, Agents and Gardeners themselves outside of the major settlements. Similar to Infinitas, towns and indeed cities have arisen naturally from populations of individuals that have migranted in and established themselves. Over millenia these cities have risen and fallen, leaving behind ruins scattered accross the island and it's wilderness. As of today several settlements exist, but the largest one is Snow Valley, which rests to the East of the Overseer's Enclave with a population of 3,500 individuals. A more detailed map with better labelling will be provided at a later date. For the moment however, the Overseer has invited the citizens of Infinitas to come and visit the island for trade and mutual cooperation. They have established a beachhead port at the very Northern Tip of the island at grid 2328. The port and settlement is based around Majan Tower, with the Northern Obelisk just a short distance south of it. All factions of Infinitas are welcome in the settlement and port around Majan Tower (map will be coming soon) - however it is policed by Agents and fighting between the various factions will not be tolerated. Similarly no fighting or disruption of the local populations would be tolerated. That said, there is no law in the wilds of the island. To the south is the Northern Obelisk, which is notably a 500 meter tall single structure of Obsidian, which glows an unnatural blue in color. It has been identified as a safe spot to convene in case of island wide magical disasters and has a small population of Gardeners around it. Silsbury Island is in many ways, a true frontier town and a haven for adventurers that focus more on their individual skills and innate abilities. Artifacts and Treasures are likely to have migranted in all over the island over the various millenia, supresed by the anti-magic/tech field and waiting for the right person to claim them for discovery. Exploration is open to all while an active trade mission is going to be taking place between Infinitas and Silsbury as the Enclave seeks to replenish it's depleted resources. Thus an all points bulletin has been put in and the adventurer's guild will be recruiting members to help explore the island. Those interested are encouraged to apply. OOCLy, please post here if you are interested in having a character go to Silsbury Island. I'll be writing out enough various things so that all GMs will be able to support this, instead of just having to rely on a single one like on the mainland. Arneb hasn't done much with Adventuring stuff, but this sounds like a great opportunity to start so he'll likely want to get involved with that.

I think Sassa would be perfect for this, she can help carry equipment give some people a ride if they are tired and can light fires or dig up items!

After discussions with the OPs with the intent of clarifying things, please note the following changes to the anti-tech/magic fields: The anti-tech field on the island is intelligently guided, which means that android characters or those with heavy cybernetics can come to the island and not have to worry about being shut down inadvertantly. That said, advanced functions and electronic based weaponry is very prone to malfunctioning. The general rule is that advanced high tech weapons are a no go. Advanced high tech items that can be used with hostile intent will suffer similar disruption. Other items are okay but most high tech characters go on a watch list where if they use any of that against sentient island inhabitants. The anti-magic field is just an interfering layer that disrupts access to the underlying ambient magic of the island and also interferes with the casting of high magic, guided by the same intelligence above. However it is less restrictive on things and magical beings are capable of existing easily enough - but may have trouble reaching their full strength or innate potential.
